Prefectural Designated Historic Site Harizuka Kofun

The city's only stone-piled tumulus, surrounded by rice paddies and vineyards

The Hari-zuka Kofun burial mound stands upon a river terrace formed by the Usukawa River flowing from the Utsukushigahara mountain range. Surrounded by rice paddies and vineyards, it blends into the tranquil landscape of the satoyama hills. While multiple burial mounds once dotted the area, it now stands quietly as a symbolic presence conveying the history of this land.
