The ruins of Hirase Castle, built atop a ridge near the confluence of the Narai and Azusa Rivers, are a mountain fortress that tells the story of the Sengoku period in the Matsumoto region. Characterized by its continuous structure linking the main castle and southern castle, along with large vertical moats, it offers a glimpse into the advanced defensive structures of the time. A renowned historical site among researchers, it allows visitors to enjoy historical exploration alongside views overlooking Azumino.
