Usukawa

The river of Matsumoto, beloved for youth and fireworks

The Usukawa River is a first-class river in the Shinano River system flowing through Matsumoto City. It originates in the mountains connected to the Utsukushigahara Plateau and flows westward. Along its banks, cherry tree avenues and walking paths have been developed. In spring, cherry blossoms add color along the streets, making it a popular spot for strolling and photography. It blends into the everyday scenery as a place of relaxation for citizens, where you can also see people enjoying walking their dogs.It is also known as a filming location for the drama "Shiro Sen Nagashi" and the manga "orange." Fireworks festivals are held in summer, allowing visitors to enjoy its changing seasonal beauty.
