Kobo-yama Kofun
An ancient burial mound offering panoramic views of the Northern Alps
This keyhole-shaped tumulus, constructed during the mid-Kofun period, features a mound measuring 66 meters in total length.Constructed on the tip of a hill rising approximately 60 meters from base to summit, its front section faces north. Standing
atop the mound offers an expansive view stretching over 200 degrees from east to north and west. On clear days, the open vista extends to the peaks of the Northern Alps. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom encircling the tomb, creating a harmonious landscape where historical scenery blends with floral colors.With walking paths and information boards in place, it's a quiet tourist spot where you can stroll while pondering the origins of Matsumoto.
