Memories of Modern Matsumoto Preserved in the Red Brick Warehouse
This red brick building was constructed during the Meiji period as a supply depot for the former Matsumoto Infantry Regiment No. 50. It is currently used as a storage facility for Shinshu University's Faculty of Medicine. Characterized by thick walls and a regular window arrangement, its design reflects the robust and practical features typical of military facilities. Designated as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property, it stands as a valuable remnant conveying the modern history and architectural technology of Matsumoto, the military city.
