Special Exhibition Marking the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of the Former Kaichi School Building: “Architectural Drawings Passed Down by the Tateishi Family”
Kiyoshige Tateishi, a master carpenter who epitomized modern Matsumoto, worked on numerous buildings in addition to Kaichi School. This exhibition features drawings passed down through the Tateishi family, including those for Kaichi School—which is designated as a National Treasure—as well as drawings for Aima School and the Matsumoto District Court, along with newly discovered “ita-zu” (drawings on wooden boards used by carpenters on-site).
