44th Nomugi Pass Festival Tour
*In the event the festival is canceled due to inclement weather, a lecture on the history of Nomugi Pass will be held at the Nagawa Branch Office for local residents.
You will be served toji soba at Soba no Sato Nagawa.
You will participate in the Nomugi Pass Festival, now in its 44th year.
After the departure ceremony at Wasabizawa, you will walk approximately 1.5 km (about 1 hour) alongside local children dressed as female weavers and porters.
Upon arrival at the pass, enjoy the Gion Bayashi music of Koyasu Suwa Shrine, the songs of the silk-reeling women, and the Nomugi Isasa dance. Please use your meal voucher (1,000 yen) to purchase food and drinks at the booths (mixed sushi, oyaki, pizza).
On the return trip, you will travel by minibus to Kawaura, then transfer to a large bus to head to the Nagawa-yama Saikan.
Finally, you will visit "Hatago Matsudaya" and "Aoki Shrine," both located in the former Iriyama-juku post town of Nagawa Village.
