Nomugi Old Road Trekking: 1 Day (Nagawa・Nomugi Pass)
The trekking route follows the old highway connecting Nomugi Pass, a Nagano Prefecture historic site. It also served as the setting for the film "Ah, Nomugi Pass."
This old road remains preserved as it was in the Edo period. Walking through the lush forest of beech and coniferous trees, accompanied by historical commentary, offers a trekking experience that feels like stepping back in time.
At the pass's peak, clear weather offers spectacular views of Mount Norikura.
Lunch features a bento box made with local ingredients.
This is a leisurely trek that ascends Nomugi Pass from the Nagawa side and descends all the way to Takane.
The climax is ascending to the Matsuda family residence on the old road, where you can experience life in the past.

From Takayama Nohi Bus Center, take the Limited Express bound for Matsumoto Station for 90 minutes and get off at "Sawando BT".
For Nagawata Dam: From Matsumoto Station, take the Matsumoto Dentetsu Kamikochi Line for 30 minutes to "Shin-Shimashima" Station → From "Shin-Shimashima", take the Alpico Bus for about 25 minutes and get off at "Nagawata Dam". From Takayama Nohi Bus Center, take the Limited Express bound for Matsumoto Station for 90 minutes and get off at "Sawando BT" → Take the Alpico Bus for about 15 minutes and get off at "Nagawata Dam". - Parking for Large Buses
