Established in 1930, this third-generation specialty shop handles only fresh "genuine wasabi" delivered directly from our own fields in Azumino. The freshly harvested wasabi roots vary in size depending on the day's harvest, and seeing them with your own eyes to choose is part of the fun. The refreshingly pungent aroma and kick that hits your nose from freshly grated "raw wasabi" is an experience in a league of its own.Additionally, the "wasabi pickles" made in-store using these fresh roots and stems feature an exquisite blend of sake lees flavor and a crisp, crunchy texture. They are perfect as a side dish with rice, and also make an excellent accompaniment to Japanese sake.
