Matsumoto One Day Pass

This pass can be used on Matsumoto City’s local bus lines, such as the Town Sneaker and lines running to areas on the outskirts of the city including Matsumoto Airport and both the Asama and Utsukushigahara Hot Springs areas.
Adults: ¥800

Both passes give you discounts at other locations throughout Matsumoto, including Matsumoto Castle and many of the museums.

2-Day Free Passport Kamikochi/Norikura/Matsumoto

For ¥6,000, the 2-Day Free Passport gives you two days of unlimited rides along the network of Nohi and Alpico buses and the Kamikochi train line connecting Matsumoto, Kamikochi, Norikura Highlands, Shirahone Hot Springs, and the top of Mt. Norikura, Tatamidaira (using Echo Line on the Nagano side). For an extra ¥1,200, you can get an additional day of unlimited rides!

4-Day Shinshu–Hida Alps Wide Free Passport

The 4-Day Wide Free Passport offers four days of unlimited rides and includes the additional destinations of Oku-Hida Hot Spring Area (Hirayu & Shin-Hotaka Hot Springs, etc.), Takayama, Furukawa, Gero Hot Springs, and Shirakawa-go. The winter-season ticket (Dec thru March) starts at ¥8,800. The regular-season ticket costs ¥10,290. You can even purchase a set that includes a round-trip ticket for the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway.

The Three-star Route Ticket

This pass allows you to visit National Treasures and World Heritage Sites in Matsumoto, Kanazawa, and Shirakawa-go at a discounted price. It is valid for four days. It’s a great way to see destinations that have been awarded a 3-star rating by the Michelin Guide to Japan including Matsumoto Castle, Shirakawa-go’s historic village, the old town in Takayama, and the Kenrokuen Garden. Adult tickets cost ¥6,000.

JR Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass

Valid for five consecutive days, this pass grants you unlimited rides on select JR train lines connecting Nagoya, Takayama, Toyama, Shinano-Omachi, Kiso, and Matsumoto as well as on other modes of transportation within the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Adult tickets cost ¥17,500.
