Shirahone Onsen is hosting a variety of tours under the title “Guide Tours to Make Your Stay at Shirahone Onsen 100 Times More Enjoyable”!
We are now accepting applications for the "Mt. Shirahone Hike – Digging Deep into Shirahone! Takao’s Walking Tour," which was a big hit last year.
On this tour, you’ll explore the area around Shirahone Onsen with “Takao-san,” the owner of Marunaga Ryokan and a true lover of Shirahone Onsen. As Takao-san explains the geology and history of Shirahone—which he has studied extensively—you’ll walk, observe, and experience the actual terrain firsthand.
This tour is titled [The Yukawa Story: Mount Gange Edition]. Long ago, Shirahone Onsen was a hot spring lake. Starting at the information center located directly above the current "Taito-dori"—believed to be the bottom of that hot spring lake—we’ll walk along the remnants of the riverbed to Mount Gange on the Jukkoku-yama hiking trail.
This tour is filled with Takao’s deep passion for Shirahone. This time, the focus will be on walking.
