Collable Matsumoto

A Visual Remix of Jazz Records

"Collable Matsumoto"

Released by independent publisher Collaxo, *Collage of Blue* is the world’s only jazz disc guide that you can see (collage), read (columns), and listen to (YouTube)—a spin-off from the related book *Sketch of Blue*.

Following in the footsteps of *Sketch of Blue*—which was inspired by the popular manga *BLUE GIANT* and captured “jazz-filled landscapes” across the United States—*Collage of Blue* curates the jazz records that inspired that journey from both West Coast and East Coast perspectives, presenting a double-cover design for a rich listening experience.

At the first-ever pop-up exhibition “Collable Matsumoto” held at Shioribi in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, in addition to the two book titles, the event features a special focus on *Collage of Blue*, showcasing original collage artwork, carefully selected collage T-shirts, and collaboration items (original tote bags and caps) with Kazuya Maiki—who gained attention for his hand-drawn reproductions of Robert Frank’s legendary photo book *The Americans*.

While streaming music has become the norm these days, there’s still something special about physical media. We promise this exhibition will remind you of that.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience those jazz records—perhaps tucked away in the back of your memory—as visual remixes that you can see, read, listen to, “wear,” and “own”!
