Geumwoo Hall
Nestled in the foothills of the Utsukushigahara Highlands, this small hot spring inn features just five rooms and one detached cottage.
The renovation of the three-story wooden main building, constructed in 1928, and the new construction of the bathhouse wing took approximately one year, leading to a reopening in April 2020. While preserving the charm of the early Showa period, it has been reborn as a more comfortable and evocative space. Guided by the concept of "Time and Stay," we focused on simplicity and quality, using natural materials that deepen in character over time. Every detail was meticulously finished. While it lacks the picturesque hot spring town or breathtaking views, we believe the space, imbued with its carved history, allows guests to feel the accumulation of time and the beauty of a traditional inn. Moreover, the ever-changing scenery of the garden surrounding the building never grows tiresome. Time spent within it, savoring the blessings of the satoyama. The moment you immerse yourself in the bath and let go. Moments of conversation with someone dear. And time to simply be. We hope your day spent here becomes irreplaceable "time."
