Red Soba Fields in Minowa
I recently visited Akasoba no Sato (The village of red soba) in Minowa, Nagano. Red Soba flowers bloom from the end of September to the beginning of October, so this is an ideal day trip for the beginning of Autumn.
I went in September and I could already see some flowers, but if you go in October, the fields will be entirely pink, making this a great place to enjoy nature!

Some facts on Akasoba:
- The flowers of soba are normally white, but this is a special variety brought back from the Himalayas.
- This variety is called Takane Ruby.
- Unlike white soba, this soba isn’t used to make noodles.
How to reach Minowa from Matsumoto:
Take the Iida Shoko Kaikan Bus to Chuodo Minowa
Minowa, Kamiina District, Nagano 399-4601
Once in Minowa you can enjoy the beautiful nature!
I hope you have a nice time visiting Akasoba no Sato!
