2026 Matsumoto Castle National Treasure Night Cherry Blossom Festival
Cherry Blossoms in Bloom! The "National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Night Cherry Blossom Festival" Celebrating the Arrival of Spring Is About to Begin
The Matsumoto Castle Management Office will hold an eight-day cherry blossom illumination event at the National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Keep and the Honmaru Garden, starting three days after the official declaration of cherry blossom blooming.
At the Tsukimi Yagura, performances featuring a traditional trio (koto and shakuhachi), flute, and gagaku will be held. Within the Honmaru Garden, a tea ceremony area will be set up, and stalls selling hanami dango as well as regular shops will be open. We invite you to visit the National Treasure Matsumoto Castle “Night Cherry Blossom Festival” this spring.
*The Honmaru Garden will be open free of charge at night during the event period, but visitors will not be able to climb the main keep.

During the same period as the Night Cherry Blossom Festival, the cherry blossom trees lining the outer moat of Matsumoto Castle will also be illuminated.
