A glimpse of the ice sculptures in Matsumoto

Hello everyone!
It is the end of a weirdly warm January in Matsumoto, there has barely been any snow and to be honest this makes me sad.

Last weekend Matsumoto hosted the annual ice sculpture event, where ice sculptures are carved and exposed for 48 hours, from Friday to Sunday.
I could catch a glimpse of those on Friday as they were being prepared so here are some pictures.

Some of them were already melting because it was that warm!

I think we can probably expect a colder February and hopefully this year too I will be able to share with you some pictures of Matsumoto in the snow.

By the way, Valentine’s Day is the next big event in Japan, and shops are selling chocolate.
Will you buy chocolate this year?

I bought this treat from a combini.
It is a nikuman, but instead of meat it has a chocolate filling!

This is a great time for chocolate lovers!

Have you seen the sculptures? Are you enjoying some nice chocolate treats? 🙂
