Say and the Soan Annex next door serve handmade soba and a variety of local dishes. Soan is housed in a traditional kura storehouse, which lets you experience the atmosphere of old Matsumoto. The soba is characterized by the thin noodles and the homemade broth made from kombu (kelp) and katsuobushi (skipjack tuna). The seasonal sansai (edible, wild plants) and mushroom dishes allow you to enjoy the flavors of the seasons and you can also try a variety of local sake.
