Maybe you know the world famous contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama? She lives in NY, but her hometown is Matsumoto. Some of her works can be seen in the Matsumoto Museum of Art.
On Dec 1, she visited Matsumoto for a ceremony of one bus she designed. She rode the bus “polka-dots wildly dance version” with some citizens from the station to the Matsumoto Museum of Art.

I saw her in the musuem. She was sitting in front of her big sculpture “The Visionary Flowers”. That scene was also an art work.


The only Kusama-designed bus in the world is used for the loop line Eastern course to Nakamachi and the Matsumoto Museum. If lucky, you can see it.
