Halfway down Nawate Street, at the intersection leading to Midori-cho, stands “Midori Bridge,” a remnant of the past. Once upon a time, a beautiful bridge spanned the waterway that flowed through the town at this very spot. Today, the water flows through a culvert beneath the road, and the bridge itself is no longer visible; however, the traces of the railings and a sign bearing the name “Midori Bridge” quietly tell the story of the scenery of days gone by.

If you peer down beside the bridge, you can still see the waterway flowing beneath. Even as the town’s scenery has changed, the flow of the water remains the same. It is a small historical spot that allows you to feel the passage of time.
