Sōmori Inari Shrine

A shrine embodying two wishes: for prosperous business and good health

Behind Jōrinji Temple stands the quiet Sakamori Inari Shrine. While Inari is known as the god of business prosperity, this shrine holds a profound wish to protect the people from smallpox. Greeting visitors is a giant papier-mâché white fox, rare even nationwide. Its imposing presence and somewhat humorous expression are unforgettable once seen.

The vibrant carvings adorning the shrine hall are also magnificent. Why not visit this meticulously crafted shrine, complete with details like the hundred-visit stone with counting beads for the hundred-visit ritual, to pray for business prosperity and good health?
