Near Agata no Mori park, one of the most popular spots in Matsumoto, you will find a delicious Italian restaurant called Italian Kitchen Oribe.
Oribe is run by chef Morikawa, who studied cooking in Lucca and opened this delicious restaurant in Matsumoto, where you can enjoy traditional recipes and fusion dishes.
In fact, Chef Morikawa says it is in Lucca that he learned the importance of cooking locally sourced quality ingredients, that is why in some dishes he integrates some typical vegetables or salmon from Nagano prefecture.
The restaurant opened in April 2011 with the goal of serving reasonably priced Italian cuisine that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.
The restaurant is named Oribe after the word olive (olives), and the traditional ceramics of Gifu Prefecture (oribeyaki) where the chef was born and raised.
Set Menus include Pasta or Pizza, a plate of apetizers of the day, a drink and dessert, à la carte menu is also available.
The restaurant focuses on using quality ingredients and delicious salt and oil, and I personally find the flavor to be true to the original and I would recommend this Italian restaurant to everyone!
You can enjoy some typical Italian cocktails with Aperol and Campari and Italian beer!
On the walls you will see some pictures taken by the Chef during his time in Italy, and you will listen to some of his favorite Italian songs playing in the background.
