Earth Day Shinshu · Earth Camp 2026
In 1970, Earth Day began with the voices of individual citizens.
It was not merely about raising specific issues, but also a space to reexamine the question, “What kind of society do we want?” Earth Day Shinshu is an effort to rediscover those original ideals in today’s world.
As times change and society grows more complex, we find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life and the pursuit of efficiency. That is precisely why we want to take time to reconnect with our senses in nature.
In Nagano—a land where mountains, water, and the changing seasons are an integral part of daily life—we seek to redefine the relationship between people and the Earth not through “proclamations” but through “firsthand experience.” We come together across different perspectives and generations to meet, talk, and try new things. We believe that the accumulation of these small dialogues and actions will form the foundation of our future society. Earth Day Shinshu is an experiment in new relationships, born from the unique environment of Shinshu.
