Here in Matsumoto, where I live, the "May of Crafts" has begun.
It’s May, a season of fragrant breezes and dazzling fresh greenery.
Starting Saturday, May 16, at Sioribi @sioribi,
the Spring/Summer 2026 exhibition and sale will begin.
This season, I’ve created designs inspired by Leo Lionni’s fantastical natural history book, *Parallel Plants*. The parallel world that exists alongside us—it could be the person next to us, or their thoughts. Touching upon that other world can sometimes be a matter of curiosity, but other times it requires summoning up the courage. I’ll also be bringing new scarves, folding fans, and handkerchiefs featuring collages of the botanical drawings I’ve been accumulating day by day.Please feel free to try on as many scarves as you like.
