2026 Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival

An international music festival founded in 1992 by conductor Seiji Ozawa and held every summer in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture.

(Commonly known as: OMF)

Centered around the Saito Kinen Orchestra (SKO), which brings together outstanding musicians from around the world, the festival presents a wide-ranging and diverse program of orchestral (symphonic) works, opera, and chamber music concerts.

Furthermore, cherishing the philosophy of “Bringing authentic music to children,” the festival has made a significant contribution to the emotional and artistic education of elementary and junior high school students through its educational programs, which have been in place since the festival’s inception.

The music created by the SKO—now celebrating over 40 years since its founding—and the spirit bequeathed by Seiji Ozawa is broadcast from Matsumoto, the City of Music, to the world.
