Established as a ryokan/inn back in 1868, this Matsumoto’s quintessential cafe. It is warm, cozy and housed in a beautiful, old kura-style building filled with handmade wooden furniture. You’ll find Marumo along the Metoba river on the corner of a bridge that takes you from Nakamachi Street to Nawate Street.
The coffee is great and they also serve tasty homemade treats. Marumo opens at eight in the morning, so it’s the perfect place to grab breakfast and draft a sightseeing plan for the day.
