Michel sells sweets, cakes, and tarts made by a skilled French confectioner. He and his wife have run the shop for 26 years. Cakes here looks small but are actually quite rich and filling. They sell seasonal sweets such as a strawberry tart in spring and a blueberry tart and an orange tart come out later. The unusual Congolais is made by wadding up coconut and baking it and the Gallette, originally from the Bretonne area in France, is made from buckwheat flour. Michel also bakes confections that use local ingredients such as miso, walnuts, and buckwheat berries.
