Ten Scrolls of Matsumoto
Many stories begin at Matsumoto and Asama Hot Springs
Matsumoto Jūjō is the collective name for a project aiming to revitalize the historic ryokan "Koyanagi," founded in 1686, and to renovate the Asama Onsen area. Jūjō means "ten stories." It was named with the hope that visitors would sense various stories in this place and that their own stories might begin here.Within the grounds are two hotels—Matsumoto Honbako and Koyanagi—both renovated from the original inn, along with a bookstore, bakery, shop, restaurant, and hard cider brewery. Outside the grounds are two cafes: Oyaki to, Coffee and Philosophy and Sweets.
