Become a Skilled Taiko Drummer After Visiting the Castle
Delve deeper into the history of Matsumoto by joining our always popular “taiko” drum workshop. Once beat to encourage samurai into battle, taiko are resonant instruments that take skill and power to play. You’ll learn how to do just that as you are instructed on the techniques and rhythmic patterns of taiko – also called “Japanese Kettle Drums”. Workshops culminate in your group playing in unison or perhaps, should you be taken by the beat, a solo performance of your own!
