One of the highlights of Mt Chogatake is its view of Mt. Yari at sunrise.
From the Tokusawa rest area beyond Kamikochi, there are two routes to the top: continue along the river for another hour then start the climb, or take the steep trail up from Tokusawa. From Mt. Chogatake, if you’d like to stay up high, continue on to Mt. Jonen, Mt. O-Tensho and Mt. Tsubakurodake.
