<Synopsis>
Showa 20.
Eiichi, from Nagano Prefecture, and Sosuke, from Okinawa Prefecture, met at an art university in Tokyo.
Before being deployed to the Battle of Okinawa, Eiichi learns of Sosuke’s “dream.”
The war finally ended.
While losing many of his comrades, Eiichi survived. In the diary he had kept writing since the war, he records his memories of his comrades and the feelings they entrusted to him, coming to terms with the meaning of his survival.
Time passes, and we fast-forward to the present day.
Inspired by the diary Eiichi left behind, his family comes into contact with the feelings of those who lived through that era and begins to ponder, “How should we live? What should we pass on to the future?”
