Masao Takahata Solo Exhibition “The Dog Is Watching You” at Tegamisha Bunbako

That dog you often see in your neighborhood on your way to work or during your commute. That dog you happened to meet while traveling—the one that caught your eye. Whether it was a puppy being carried, a dog striding confidently along, or one peering out at you from a stroller—please take a moment to look at these photos while reflecting on all the encounters you’ve had with dogs over the years.

The wooden dog sculptures, making their debut at this exhibition, will be available via a lottery. We’ll be accepting entries for the lottery every day during the exhibition, so please be sure to participate.

<Workshop Coming Up!>

We will be holding a silkscreen printing workshop using designs by Mr. Takahata. You can apply silkscreen prints to items of your choice, such as T-shirts and tote bags. Please bring the items you’d like to print on and join us!

◎ Masao Takahata @takahatakun

An illustrator born in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, and currently residing in Hokkaido. His motifs, drawn with simple lines, are imbued with subtle humor. Primarily working with silkscreen printing, he creates works with a free-spirited approach that transcends specific techniques.His merchandise—which extends far beyond paper goods to include sake cups, brooches, date stamps, and more—has also gained popularity. In 2020, inspired by the wooden bear figurines he had been collecting as a hobby, he began creating his own wooden bears. He continues to expand the range of his artistic expression by working on both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces.
